CitizenCon 2954: Squadron 42 Gameplay Reveal (Full Prologue)

A few weeks ago CitizenCon 2954 showed off our first look at Squadron 42's gameplay, unedited. The video provided below as recorded after the show, but the exact same demo was shown on-stage.

Overall, it looks amazing with movie quality visuals and solid gameplay with cool traversal mechanics. It's honestly the perfect advertisement to get people into Star Citizen. (if only it worked right now) The graphics are top notch and (assumedly) fully take advantaged of all the new raytracing and rendering tech shown off in the "Brave New World" showcase, which I covered here. The cinematics are genuinely movie quality and you can see Chris Roberts background and connections in the movie business paying off.

The release window.

Well they said "release date" but lets be real an entire year isn't a real release date. 2026, It being that far out does sting quite a bit considering there was some rumors over a potential release later this year or early next year even. However, if (and I mean IF) this game comes out polished and is as fantastic as it needs to be. Fine, take as long as you need CIG.
